New machine types, new technologies, ITMA – these were the topics that Mayer & Cie.’s agents concerned themselves with during their three day workshop at Mayer & Cie.’s headquarters in Albstadt. From July 20th to 22nd, members of the German sales and product management team updated around 40 agents from Mayer & Cie.’s key target markets – among them Turkey, India and China – on Mayer’s latest innovations. German sales staff introduced novelties and their advantages in various presentations. During workshops and machine visits, agents were asked to discuss sales strategies and to identify selling points relevant for their markets. ITMA was a key point in those discussions, too. After all, most of Mayer’s novelties will be on show at ITMA in Milan in November.
Beautiful summer weather and an entertaining evening programme offered time and space for strengthening personal ties. Many of the agents have been participating in the workshops for many years and therefore had lots to catch up on.
Wolfgang Müller, Sales and Marketing Manager at Mayer & Cie. and organiser of the biennial workshop, said: “Of course, all of us are in close contact year round any way. We travel, we talk on the phone, we e-mail. Nevertheless, it’s always something quite special to sit down at a table together. We cherish the opportunity to exchange perspectives and experiences with our agents from all around the globe.” Juan Francisco Alvarez from Agitex in Peru was a first-time participant at this year’s workshop. He was impressed with the atmosphere and said: “Mayer & Cie. is like a big family. Agents are part of this family and are definitely treated that way.”
